Dolphins Dazzle with Records and Joy at Melbourne Nationals

The Doncaster Dolphins Masters Swimming Club made headlines at the 2025 Masters Swimming Australia Nationals in Melbourne, delivering one of their most successful meets yet.

With 35 swimmers in action, supported by vibrant new team chants and the ever-cheerful mascot Donny the Dolphin, the club showcased incredible spirit and unity.

The Dolphins achieved outstanding results, breaking five national relay records and collecting a haul of 9 gold, 6 silver, and 2 bronze in relays. Individual swimmers added to the excitement with 16 gold, 24 silver, and 17 bronze medals. Among more than 100 clubs, Doncaster proudly finished 4th overall, a testament to the team’s hard work and dedication.

A standout moment came as Dorothy Dickey, aged 95, was crowned Female Swimmer of the Meet, breaking three World Records (800m, 100m, and 50m Freestyle) and an Australian Record (400m Freestyle split), an extraordinary achievement that inspired everyone present.

The success was made possible by the guidance of coaches Neroli Nixon and Brett Comeskey, and the invaluable support of volunteers, including Brian Walsh as Meet Referee.

This unforgettable Nationals campaign has cemented the Doncaster Dolphins as a powerhouse in Masters swimming, where passion, perseverance, and team pride truly shine.
