Pickleball is one of Australia’s fastest-growing sports, and there are plenty of ways to get involved at Active Manningham.
Whether you’re completely new to the sport, looking for a casual hit, or already part of the pickleball community, our venues offer a range of courts, sessions and opportunities to play.
Pickleball sessions are delivered through Pickleball Manningham, across our venues.

Rules of the game!
- Serve underarm and diagonally into the opposite service court.
- Keep both feet behind the baseline when serving.
- The ball must bounce once on each side before players can volley.
- You cannot volley the ball while standing inside the non-volley zone, known as the kitchen.
- You can enter the kitchen to play a ball after it has bounced.
- Games are generally played to 11 points and you must win by 2.
- Traditionally, only the serving team can score a point.
- Pickleball can be played one-on-one or with two players on each team.
- A serve that touches the net and still lands correctly is generally played on, under current rules.
- A point or serve is lost if the ball goes out, doesn't clear the net, or a player breaks a rule.
- A ball touching the line is generally considered in.
- After the serve and return have bounced, players can volley or let the ball bounce before returning it.

Pickleball Manningham Club is a community-based, not-for-profit club that has been operating since 2022 and has grown to become Victoria’s largest pickleball club with more than 800 members.
Whether you’re trying pickleball for the very first time or you’re an experienced player, you’ll find a welcoming community ready to help you get started. Every session is supported by friendly volunteers who will introduce you to the game, explain the scoring and make sure you feel comfortable on court.
No partner is required, book a session and come along. You’ll rotate partners and opponents throughout the session, giving you the opportunity to meet lots of new people while enjoying plenty of court time.
