Our Doncaster Dolphins Masters swimming club participated in the Victorian Masters Long Course (LC) State Championships and came back home with many achievements.
- 46 x 1st places,
- 18 x 2nd places and
- 19 x 3rd places
- Primrose won 6 multi-class gold medals.
A total of 14 individual Club records were broken. Catherine, Ofir and Juergen broke 3 each. Ryan, Sam, Sarah, Barbara and Leanne also broke 1 each. There was also 1 Victorian record and 2 Club Medley relay records broken and 1 new Club record set.
Congratulations to the Mixed 320-359 years 4 x 50 Medley relay team (Dorothy, Rod, Margie and Ewen) who broke the Victorian record by 14.83 secs and set an inaugural club record. (The ages of the swimmers are added together, and the total age falls between 320 and 359 years – ie. an average age between 80 and 90 years!)
The Womens 160-199 Years 4 x 50 Medley relay team (Katie, Catherine, Shannon and Sarah) set a new club record. (Average age between 40 and 50 years)
The Mens 120-159 Years 4 x 50 Medley relay team (Brad, Brett, Ofir and Ryan) also set a new club record. (Average age between 30 and 40 years)
There were 28 Doncaster Dolphins competing in the Championships and all had a great day of swimming.
The Dolphins train at Aquarena on Monday and Thursday evenings (6.30-7.45pm) and Saturday mornings (8.30-10.00am). New swimmers aged from 18 years upwards are welcome to come and try 3-free sessions.
