On Sunday, 13 April 2025, Ruffey Lake Park came alive with the energy of over 120 participants at the first-ever My Manningham Fun Run & Walk. This community-first initiative, led by Active Manningham in partnership with Manningham Council, Carenet Food Relief, and M&M Printworks, brought people of all ages together to move, connect, and contribute to a greater cause.
Participants took on either the 3km or 6km course, walking or running through the scenic park in a relaxed, supportive atmosphere. Following the event, everyone enjoyed a well-earned community BBQ, hosted to celebrate the morning’s achievements and the spirit of connection.
Thanks to the overwhelming generosity and participation, $3,109.08 was raised, enabling Carenet to provide an estimated $15,000 worth of food and grocery relief to local individuals and families in need. This event powerfully echoed the message of Connecting to Thrive and Win, a testament to what we can accomplish together.
One participant, Raiya, shared, “It was my first fun run and I had an amazing experience. The staff especially were so welcoming. I think it’s a great initiative and hope to participate in more fun runs in the future.”
