Manningham Council are redeveloping the outdoor area at Aquarena Aquatic and Leisure Centre in Templestowe Lower to create a modern, accessible and welcoming space where people of all ages and abilities can stay active, connected and healthy.
The redevelopment will deliver enhanced water play and toddlers pool, café, new change rooms, more shade and better spaces for schools, clubs and families – reflecting what the community has told us matters most.
A key feature of the upgrade is the replacement of the ageing 50-metre outdoor pool, originally built around the Melbourne Olympics era and now at end of life.
The new 50-metre pool will be designed to serve the community for decades to come, with a swim wall to maximise flexibility and ramp to support people of all abilities, plus new group change rooms and tiered spectator seating for the many schools and user groups across the region.
