Doncaster Templestowe Swim Club enjoys a solid performance at Victorian Age Championships

Doncaster Templestowe Swim Club athletes enjoyed a competitive hit-out at the Victorian Age Long Course Swimming Championships at Albert Park from December 16 to 20.

Our Doncaster Templestowe Swim Club (DTSC) recently participated in the Victorian Age Long Course Swimming Championships at Albert Park and here is how we performed.

In the boys 14 years’ 50m freestyle, Terence Tang clocked 26.91 seconds to win his heat and record a personal best time, shaving 1.58 seconds off his previous best. Terence was formally 71st in the state and now he’s inside the top 20 Victorians.

Terence also clocked a national qualifying time for boys 14 years’ 50m backstroke, posting 30.80 seconds. It’s a wonderful effort from Terence.

Thomas Radford had the largest event program of all Doncaster Templestowe swimmers, competing across of broad range of events, including sprint freestyle, breaststroke and two relays.

Thomas performed well during his diverse event program, and he stormed home as anchor, clocking a fast 25 in the 4 x 50m freestyle relay. Thomas showed great leadership through his actions, representing the club with distinction.

Ethan Khoe and Eamon Eng were members of the freestyle and medley team relays which both clocked personal best times.

Ethan posted a personal best in the 17-18 years’ 100m freestyle (59.22 seconds), taking 0.51sec off his previous best.

Meanwhile, Eamon clocked a half-second personal best in the boys 13 years’ 50m freestyle to post 28-second time.

Darren Tulberg the Head coach of DTSC is certain that in the next year DTSC will boost their representation at the Victorian Championships.
