Doncaster Templestowe Badminton Association (DTBA) is a Manningham community-based NFP Sports Club Inc, celebrated its 30th anniversary in 2018.
The club, with a membership of around 600 adults and juniors, is dedicated to promoting badminton as an active lifestyle. Respecting all players’ abilities and ensuring fun is paramount. Daily play sessions and volunteer-led coaching for juniors and kids highlight the club’s commitment.
This year’s 12th Annual Graded Tournament (GT), held in May 2024, was the club’s largest and most successful yet, attracting 106 participants forming 53 doubles teams across four divisions, with an estimated 150 attendees who crowded into the 6 Badminton Courts Stadium.
This year also marked the first time with major sponsors: Healthy Move Physio and Protech Sports. The tournament was driven by a dedicated team of 15 volunteers, ensuring seamless competition and providing lunch for players. Special guests included the Mayor of Manningham Carli Lange and Leisure Manager of Active Manningham Shannon Mounsey, showing their support and ensuring everything was in order.
